Motion preservation devices are used for the treatment of disorders related to spinal injury. It helps to restore or maintain the natural motion of the injured body part by the artificial device. The widely used motion preservation device includes the minimally invasive technology for spinal fusion. The characteristic of the motion preservation device includes preservation of spinal motion, reduce the need for revision recovery, quick recovery time, and technological innovation. The stainless steel artificial disc allows continuous natural spine rotation while simultaneously providing relief & treatment to the target area.It helps to restore the motion of the spine, which has led to increased adoption of these surgical devices. There are four types of technologies used for the treatment of posterior motion preservation of degenerative lumbar spine including total disc replacement, disc nucleus replacement, interspinous process spacers, posterior dynamic stabilization devices, and facet replacement devices. The advantages of the motion preservation disc replacement therapy are reduced pain,it has faster recovery rate & better results of motion. The aim of the motion preservation devices is to be able to keep the normal or near regular motion to stem the adverse impact of spinal infusion. An ideal motion preservation device is basically a minimally invasive procedure, it preserves or re-establish the normal motion of the spine. The spinal disorder is most common in the geriatric population. Due to aging, there are structural changes in the spine such as enlargement in the bone & joints and thickening of the band of tissue that supports the spine. There are a wide variety of posterior motion preservation devices in various stages of development.
An increase in the prevalence of the spinal disorder, a surge in a change in lifestyle, and technological advancements in the motion preservation device market drive the market growth. In addition, the rise in the geriatric population across the globe boosts the market growth. Another key factors that drive the market growth are advent latest & advanced device, the development of clinics & centers for diagnosis, and an increase in number of patients with spinal disease. An increase in the prevalence of the spine related disease caused due to the over smoking, obesity and changed lifestyle are also the key factors for the motion preservation market growth. Furthermore, an increase in demand for minimally invasive surgeries compared to traditional spine surgery, such as low risk of infection, less bleeding, faster recovery, and shorter hospitals stays have further boosted the market growth. Stringent regulatory approval procedures may require more time for FDA approval and unfavorable reimbursement scenarios may decline the market growth . Thus, the increase in demand for the motion preservation device is due to the participation of the key payers in manufacturing and developing of the motion preservation device having benefits over conventional methods of surgery and advanced technology in motion preservation device are expected to act as opportunities for the motion preservation market during forecast period.
