"E-Commerce moving toward M-Commerce in Europe."

M-Commerce's share of E-Commerce will increase.

As the penetration of mobile devices, particularly smartphones, expands in Europe, the opportunity to shop online is extended to more individuals. The share of online retail sales in the region attributed to mobile shopping penetration is projected to reach more than one-third by 2021, according to data in the yStats.com report. Online merchants are producing smartphone apps and mobile-enhanced websites to facilitate the further growth of M-Commerce in Europe.

Obstacles to M-Commerce growth persist

Even with the recent expansion of mobile purchases, much of it transacted through Amazon, some shoppers in Europe still hesitate to buy through a handheld device because of poor Internet connectivity or payment process issues, according to survey's cited in the yStats.com report.
