Starting from Europe in the early 2000s, solar power generation spread into Japan and the US. On the back of the growth of the Chinese market, since 2011, the solar power market reported a record high growth in 2016 (70 GW installation). Based on the sharp growth from 48 GW in 2015 to 79GW in 2016, many experts predicted there would be a low chance for another big jump, however, due to increasing installation in China, 2017 would be another year of high growth for solar power system, surprising most of the experts.
