Silver (Ag) nanowire is a very thin wire-shaped material. The thickness ranges just tens of nanometers with a length of tens of micrometers. Ag is the most conductive material, and its electrical properties remain unchanged even in the form of nanowire, allowing the transformation of Ag nanowire into a highly conductive and transparent electrode films.
Transparent electrodes based on silver nanowire can be produced using self-assembly network and has been already commercialized for the use in touch sensors, which demonstrates its potential applications in a wide range of areas. However, transparent electrodes based on Ag nanowire have yet to gain strong momentum to threaten the current ITO (Indium Tin Oxide), and ITO is still most widely used for industrial applications.
From the market perspective, in recent years, the touch sensor market has been experiencing heavy price competition and restructuring due to excessive investment and limited market growth.
