Molecular sieves are adsorbents and can be used as desiccants, with uniform pore sizes. Molecular sieves are primarily used for the separation of permanent gases like hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon monoxide, and inert gases and low molecular weight linear and branched-chain hydrocarbons.
