Deployment of Display Technologies in K-12 Schools 2017 is the first in a series of reports from Simba Information providing information on how K-12 schools are supplementing traditional instructional materials in classrooms with growing implementations of technology.

Deployment of Display Technologies in K-12 Schools 2017 provides information on the penetration in U.S. K-12 schools of display/output technologies, including interactive whiteboards, flat panel screens, digital projectors, digital media players, and 3D printers. Additionally, data is provided on the leading brands, in terms of installed base, for interactive whiteboards, digital projectors and digital media players.

The report also looks at what sources schools tap for technology purchases, with district/local funds being the most frequently cited source. Additionally, the report provides information on whether schools expect to increase technology spending and what display/output devices are most likely to win a share of that spending.

This report, and the three to follow (Deployment of Tablets/Mobile Devices in K-12 Schools 2017, Deployment of Laptop/Desktop Computing Devices in K-12 Schools 2017, and the summative report K-12 Deployment Patterns and Purchasing Plans for Computing/Display Devices 2017), are based on a survey of educators during the 2016-2017 school year.
