“ Education Re-Entry: Getting Ready for School 2021-2022 ” examines the continued impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on K-12 school districts in the United States, including trends and strategies to keep students safe, reverse learning loss, and address social-emotional issues in the 2021-2022 school year and beyond.

The report is organized into eight chapters that focus on the pandemic's impact on: academic, social-emotional issues for students and teachers, acceleration of technology use, health and safety in schools, impacts on educators, and budgets and financing.

Additionally, the report examines the positive impacts and market opportunities engendered by the pandemic and provides case studies of how four districts dealt with the pandemic and how they are moving forward.

Addressing learning loss leads a list of priorities for schools, but the focus is on acceleration as well as catching up. And while schools are prioritizing issues, districts and educators are capitalizing on what they learned about using technology since March 2020 and are translating that knowledge into effective use of technology to support classroom learning.
