Due to the high amounts of greenhouse gases (GHG) being emitted from vehicles, the federal and state governments in the U.S. are stepping up efforts to make transportation cleaner. Since the exit of the nation from the Paris Climate Change Agreement, 23 states, along with the District of Columbia, have set strict GHG emission reduction targets.
