本報告提供全球電子產品集合 (電子設備組裝) 市場相關調查分析,各產品區隔的市場佔有率分析,各OEM、EMS企業分析 (360家OEM,100家EMS,集合收益) 等系統性資訊。
The worldwide contract manufacturing (CM) industry experienced a small decline in 2015 of approximately 1.5 percent. Revenue has been in decline since 2013, but over the last five years the CM market has grown at a 3.0 percent CAGR. Figure 2-1 summarizes the CM market growth from 2010 to 2015 in terms of US revenue.
Figure 2-1: The Worldwide CM Market
The CM market was sustained by the strong demand for smartphones, which resulted in an increase in assembly revenue of $14 billion in 2015. Orders for tablets once were strong but not for long, as the market is expected to grow only 5 percent by 2020. Notebooks were weak, albeit still growing, and growth in desktops, negative for the last couple of years, will be flat by 2020. Overall, the computer industry lost nearly $19 billion in assembly revenue in 2015 (this includes servers and workstations). Nearly all of the high-mix/high-complexity products (medical, industrial, transportation) experienced positive growth, although defense/military suffered a decline resulting from budget constraints.
For the sixth year in a row, the industry was profitable at $10.3 billion, exceeding 2014's earnings of $8.9 billion and 2013's of $9.5 billion among public CM companies. Foxconn accounted for nearly half of all the money made by the EMS industry in 2015, and EMS companies accounted for approximately 78 percent of the total. Five EMS companies and three ODM firms lost money in 2015-all with admittedly minor losses totaling $142 million. Pegatron ranked second in total earnings ($867 million) for EMS companies, followed by Flex, while Delta Electronics and Quanta ranked highest in earnings for the ODMs (all three achieving around $600+ million in profit).
Table 2-1 summarizes the top ten EMS companies by revenue in 2015. Foxconn continued its extraordinary dominance as the leading EMS firm in the industry, outdistancing its closest contender by almost four times. In 2014, Flex was displaced from the number-two position by Pegatron, dropping into third place. The leaders are comprised of three ODMs and seven EMS firms.
