The market share of vehicles motivated primarily by electric propulsion remains mired in the low single digits globally, though it is projected to grow significantly in the coming decades. Despite the modest consumer adoption of fully electric and strong hybrid propulsion, automakers and suppliers are dramatically expanding their electrified offerings to achieve gains in fuel efficiency, reductions in emissions, and increases in available electrical power.
