Aircraft arresting system refers to all those components which are used to typically stop an aircraft by absorbing the momentum of an aircraft during a normal landing or an emergency landing or during an aborted takeoff. The land-based segment of the market is expected to grow at the highest CAGR during the forecast period. The US has plans to replace their outdated aircraft arresting systems aboard its aircraft carriers with new ones in the next few years. In 2017, the USAF (the United States Air Force) phased out their BAK-14 hook cable support system and have replaced it with the new BAK-14M cable support system for aircraft arresting. Moreover, according to USAF, the retract feature of the BAK-14M allows the hook cable to remain connected to the arresting system and can also be quickly lowered below the runway surface whenever civil flight operations take place. However, Asia-Pacific region is anticipated to have the highest growth during the forecast period. The growth is majorly due to the increasing aircraft carrier construction and procurement plans, as well as due to the increasing investments in construction and modernization of the airports in China, India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia among others.
