The Global Spreader Fertilizer Machinery Market was USD XX million in 2015 and is expected to reach a value USD XX million by 2020 with a CAGR of XX%. Engineering and technological inputs by way of mechanization have increased substantially during recent years globally. As a result of industrial revolution and green revolution, the machinery market has grown substantially for capacity enhancement and efficient utilization of inputs. High yielding varieties with high requirement of irrigation and agri-inputs necessitated the adoption of farm mechanization in agricultural fields. The ever increasing credit facility available for the farmers and the growing concern over food security are driving the market farm machinery in the country. Starting with the demand for basic machineries like tractors, ploughs and threshers, the current demand and invention is focused on pre-harvest and post-harvest machinery like seeders, sprayers, threshers, harvesters, drilling machines etc.

The market is segmented based on the phase type as Dry Spreaders, Drop Spreaders, Rotary Spreaders, Pendulum Spreaders and Liquid Spreaders. The machinery developed for application of fertilizers is composed of three main parts: the hopper or storage of fertilizer, the drop tube of fertilizer and fertilizer distributor. They are differentiated based on the spread pattern, operating mechanism and the physical composition of the fertilizer. Dry fertilizers are used in the distribution of dry, large globules of fertilizers over a field. The design components are built in based on these parameters. Drop Spreaders instruments drop the fertilizer on the field through a gap in the bottom of the hopper. They work best in open fields through straight, overlapping lines. Rotary spreaders work through a rotating disk mechanism at the bottom of the hopper and are used for spreading evenly sized, dry fertilizers. There are various other kinds of spreaders such as broadcast spreader and Liquid fertilizer spreader. Broadcast spreader is the most popular and widely used spreader, however, it is mostly used in the handheld form for small lawns. Asia Pacific and North America are major markets followed by Europe. South America is a developing region and provides huge opportunities for the players to invest and contribute a major share for the growth in the region.

The spreader fertilizer market has a huge platform for growth by improvising the existing technology and by using Precision farming techniques. Originating in US and European countries where farms are generally big (over 100 hectares), precision agriculture (PA) is becoming popular globally. In western countries, PA is associated with increased farm mechanization for field operations like sowing, harvesting, weeding, baling etc. Global positioning systems, computer based sensors, actuators, machine vision, and laser-based sensors are incorporated into mobile robots to configure autonomous systems into agricultural tasks. In modern farming, fleet robots are used to accomplish one or several agricultural tasks. The system involves digitally connected robot farmhands, drones, satellite communication, ground based censors and data centres.
