A wearable device is a piece of technology that is worn on the human body. A sensor is incorporated into wearable devices for tracking a soldier's vitals or for collecting data related to health and fitness, location, and even a soldier's biofeedback indicating emotions. Wearable sensors rely on short-range wireless systems such as Bluetooth or local Wi-Fi setups for data transfer. These technologies, instruments, equipment, or gadgets which assist soldiers in carrying out critical functions more effectively by applying or by using minimum energy. These wearable devices can perform most of the computing tasks as mobile phones and computers.

Wearables tend to be more sophisticated than the hand-held technology available in the market as they can provide useful sensory and scanning features. Wearable sensors play a vital role in wearable devices by providing real-time data of a soldier's activity during combat and training operations. They have several applications and are used for tracking the health of a soldier, navigation purposes, and communication purposes, among others. The growing demand for the modernization of military devices and an increase in military budgets in developing countries will propel the global military wearable sensors market growth during the forecast period.
