The market is mainly driven by factors such as the growing propagation of small cells, growing mobile data traffic, improvements in mobile broadband technology and a rising need for efficient public safety operations.

MARKET INSIGHTS

In terms of the location segment, the urban segment is the fastest growing market in terms of revenue. In the urban segment, the transceiver with 3G and 4G/LTE radio serves as the connection point between a wireless device and the cellular network for thickly populated environments such as outdoor (such as parks or city centers) or indoor (such as convention centers, shopping malls, or transport hubs). These are connected with the macro layer through a HetNet. The urban small cells are designed for high traffic areas and embedded into strong cabinets suitable for deployment in areas that are not under supervision. They also perform the same functions as a base transceiver station (BTS), but with coverage on a scale of several hundred meters (200 m max), support 8 to 64 users, and output power of 1 W to 2 W.

As the use of small cell is growing rapidly, it will also have some hindrances associated with it. Some of them are site acquisition and working with building owners for outdoor deployments are somewhat challenging, cross-interference between networks, high deployment costs, high pricing of bandwidth, insufficient backhaul capacity & security and vulnerability issues.
