This IDC Perspective extends the research for selected digital transformation (DX) use cases and analyzes them within the context of IDC's artificial intelligence (AI)-based automation framework for healthcare. The challenges of DX including the adoption of AI are daunting. Not only does it require new technology but it also requires new relationships, new processes, and the resources to implement. Healthcare organizations need tools to help them prioritize which use cases to pursue at what time. In addition, those use cases that require the application of AI need to be carefully and thoughtfully thought through with a clear understanding of the role of man and machine.
