As the use of cloud solutions increases, both business and IT leaders are recognizing that the safety and success of their business depends on their finding ways to take full advantage of cloud innovation while also ensuring consistent service levels. IDC expects 65% of workloads moving to cloud will be determined by security and compliance requirements that will favor hosted private cloud delivery models. In addition, the emphasis on IT service management and driving DevOps adoption for enabling agile and flexible business operations is increasing.

"Cloud buyers will witness significant change in their application landscape and their vendor ecosystem. This implies that the time is ripe for cloud technology players and service providers to up the ante in order to stay relevant," says Mayur Sahni, senior research manager, Cloud and Services Research. "The 'need for speed' of LOBs and the requirement, therefore, from IT to be quick to respond to LOB requirements to stay competitive in their addressable market, will be facilitated by much easier provisioning capabilities through a host of APIs and migration tools. Winners in this marketplace will be those that provide tools that control the way business processes and application services connect to each other," adds Chris Morris, AVP, Cloud and Services Research.
