This IDC study identifies IDC's Outsourcing, Managed, Hosted, and Offshore Services research team's top 10 predictions for the outsourcing and offshore services marketplace for 2015. It highlights the major trends and critical developments that will affect the wide spectrum of services across both IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) services.

"2015 seems to be shaping up as the year in which the next generation of outsourcing, referred to as cloud services, is taking center stage for the delivery of just about any type of IT or business process similar to prior industrial shifts such as from carriages to horseless carriages (cars), from mainframes to PCs, and from DVDs to online music," said David Tapper, VP, Outsourcing and Offshore Services, at IDC. "This shift will involve much more intensified competition between pure-play cloud service providers and traditional outsourcers (e.g., labor oriented) while governments will be taking a closer look at implementing regulations over the coming years to ensure not just privacy and security of information across all stakeholders but also the stability and competitiveness of the service provider industry and market."
