Storage water heater market is projected to record significant gains over the forthcoming timeframe. A water heater is an appliance which converts energy to heat, transferring that heat to water. They are usually fixed to a water pipe that supplies cold water and has an outward hot water pipe that supplies heated water to appliances and faucets. A conventional storage water heater is the most popular type of water heating system for homes.

Conventional storage water heaters provide a ready reservoir usually from 20 to 80 gallons of hot water. It functions by releasing hot water from the top of the tank while turning on the hot water tap. In order to substitute the hot water, cold water enters the bottom side of the tank, making sure that the tank is mostly full.

Most of the water heaters are fueled by natural gas. Where natural gas is available, it becomes a less expensive energy source than electricity. Storage water heater that is gas fueled heats water by a burner placed beneath the tank. Natural gas is piped to a gas valve. The storage water heater maybe served by a couple of different types of valves, usually depending upon the age of the water heater.

While installing storage water heaters few factors need to be considered such as climate, fuel type, safety issues specifically relating to the combustion of gas and oil-fired water heaters, and local building code requirements.

The storage water heater market is segmented into capacity, application, energy source, and regional landscape.

With respect to capacity, the market is divided into below 30-liter, 30-100 liter, 100-250-liter, 250-400 liter, and above 400 liters. Among these, 100-250 liter capacity storage water heaters will witness strong growth owing to increasing demand from small and large commercial applications.

Based on energy source, the market is classified into electric and gas, which is further bifurcated into natural gas and LPG. It is seen that ongoing shift toward clean energy fuels along with significant government investments toward development of gas distribution network will stimulate the demand for LPG fueled water heaters.

LPG fueled water heaters are cost-effective, efficient as well as environmentally friendly. They have the same function as natural gas based water systems, the only difference is that they are supplied by an LPG tank instead of the gas system. LPG being exceptionally efficient is one of the cleanest traditional fuels available.

From a regional frame of reference, it is expected that in Eurasia storage water heater market, seasonal heating demand owing to extreme winters will facilitate the product adoption.

Furthermore, ongoing economic development coupled with ongoing infrastructural investments will fuel the demand across CIS heating industry.
