This annual report provides an analysis and outlook to 2050 for power technology and generation cost trends in Europe. It includes levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) data covering 14 key technologies, including coal, gas combined cycle, carbon capture and storage for coal and gas, gas peaker, gas engine, onshore wind, offshore wind, utility-scale solar (with and without tracker), nuclear, battery storage, and solar hybrid (with and without tracker) technologies. It provides technology-level analysis for 14 countries: Germany, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Greece and Sweden. The report examines competition between renewable power, fossil fuel power, nuclear power and energy storage in each country and highlights critical inflexion points in the cost trajectory.
