This Freedonia industry study analyzes the $10.5 billion global e-bike market. It presents historical demand for 2009, 2014, and 2019, and forecasts growth through 2024 for 19 countries. The study also evaluates company market share in both dollar and unit terms, and examines e-bikes in the context of multiple competing technologies, such as internal combustion engine scooters and mopeds, and conventional bicycles.

Study Highlights Include:

• Despite registering subpar growth, the immense Chinese market is expected to account for nearly half of all new product demand as both new and replacement product sales climb.

• Outside of China, e-bike sales will grow rapidly as these machines become more widely available and consumer awareness grows; cycling sports grow in popularity; personal incomes around the world rise; and governments offer subsidies for e-bike purchases.
