The office furniture market in North America (including the United States, Canada and Mexico) represents one third of the global office demand. The market continued to grow strongly posting a +5% increase in 2017, following four years of uninterrupted growth.

The United States is the largest importer of office furniture in the world and has a USD 2 billion negative trade balance. On the other hand, Canada and Mexico are net exporters with a positive trade balance, which progressively improved over the last years. Canada, in particular, is the second largest office furniture exporter in the world, after China, and represents a 51% of the whole export values of North America.

The outlook for the North American office furniture market in 2018 and 2019 remains positive, despite uncertain factors like tariff barriers and the NAFTA negotiations involving the considered countries.
