Beer declined by due to weaker consumer and tourist spending. The entry barrier for imported beer is low as there is no import tax in Hong Kong, beer from Japan and Europe were imported more. Due to the time difference with Brazil the FIFA world cup did not have much of an impact on volume as the games were either late at night or early in the morning.
