This report provides an in-depth analysis of the Indonesian bathroom market including the monitoring of recent trend patterns and demand drivers, plus substantiated volume forecasts for the next 5 years. Indonesia's economy grew at about 5% during 2019, which is slower than the 5.2% growth rate in 2018. According to the World Bank, this slower growth was due to domestic drivers and weakening exports. Because of this drop in GDP growth during 2019, a three-year period of accelerated economic expansion has effectively ended. After touching a low of about 4.9% in 2015, the country's economic growth had managed to grow moderately from 2015-2018.

The Indonesian bath and shower tray market remained rather stagnant during 2019, only increasing marginally, with both baths and shower trays experiencing an increase in sales. Demand for all ceramic sanitary ware items grew at a healthy pace during 2019. Demand for squat toilet sales rose significantly, especially when expressed in volumes, but the wall hung, and onepiece toilet types experienced the highest growth rates in 2019. The sales of the faucets also grew in 2019 same as sanitaryware market. The market, supported by the government's subsidy housing programme, has been witnessing significant growth since 2015. The residential segment continued to be the major driver of sales of faucets in the country driven by an improving residential construction market in the urban regions of Jakarta, Surabaya, Palembang and other major cities The shower enclosure market continued to grow in 2019, although at a relatively modest pace compared to the sanitary ware and faucet markets.
