While the consumer VR market has thus far not lived up to the early expectations and excitement, the launch of new standalone VR HMDs and successful game titles is helping to keep momentum moving forward. More significantly the enterprise and location-based VR segments continue to gain traction and with the latter providing a wider audience high quality VR experiences. AR is receiving more attention than VR, but prospects are still good for those applications that benefit from deeper levels of immersion. The increasing use of inside-out tracking and standalone is also working to reduce some pain points like setup and ease of use. The path forward for VR and immersive technologies remains a long-term vision, but advancements continue to push the market forward.
