The objective of managing device and user identities is one of the most perplexing challenges for the emerging IoT landscape. In most cases, the Identity of Things (IDoT) is falsely established as an arbitrary concept that primarily deals with rudimentary device management solutions involving basic Information and Access Management (IAM) principles and stretched in order to fit the blueprint of a larger HTTP-enabled ecosystem. This report addresses these conceptualization challenges and delves into IoT Thing Identity and Management services providing both a current, tangible understanding of its underlying mechanisms as well as a future-looking approach and market forecasts for all major IoT verticals: from industrial and automotive to smart cities and agriculture.
