目錄

The industrial wireless sensor networking (WSN) value proposition has evolved from simply extending or replacing wired networks to providing cloud connected smart object intelligence. IP addressability to the node, reliable mesh networking, fieldbus tunneling, proven battery lifetimes and new cloud capabilities are now part of the industrial WSN landscape.

By 2018, wireless sensor networks will expand the total market for industrial field instruments by over 20% and new markets-or applications that cannot be wired-- will make up 60% at this time.

For the past decade, ON World has conducted phone interviews and surveys with industrial WSN companies across the whole value chain and this report leverages this continuous focus.

In collaboration with the International Society of Automation (ISA), ON World has completed an extensive 2014: Q4 survey on industrial wireless sensor networking with 220 industrial automation vendors, end users, systems integrators and industry experts worldwide. This survey is compared with our previous survey completed in 2012 in collaboration with ISA, HCF and WINA.

This report-- our fifth edition-- includes five year forecasts on six solution areas in 14 target markets, analysis of 50+ companies in three market landscapes (Process, Vertical/Hybrid, and Discrete/Factory Automation). It also includes an in-depth technology evaluation and key survey findings with WSN adopters on current/planned WSN deployments, technologies, strategic investment areas as well as viewpoints on the Internet of Things, wearables and most needed industrial WSN innovations.

Primary Research:

For this report, ON World surveyed/interviewed 250+ individuals representing 150+ organizations. A few of the surveyed/analyzed companies included in the report include the following:
