How complex would the device implementation, integration, and setup get with camera-based industrial scanners and controllers? What are the bandwidth requirements for end users, and how much will it cost them? How critical is damaged goods documentation to customers' business?
Data analytics is the next frontier. Vendors need to focus on expanding their partner ecosystems to include companies that can help them address their customers' requirements to do more with captured data and images. This is to provide analytics support and capabilities to help with real-time, strategic decisionmaking, while also helping meet customers' new application requirements.
R&D spending on the rise among leading vendors. Industrial scanner vendors are consistently increasing their R&D budgets as they aim to enable additional functionality and applications on their products.
