This report is based on Timetric's Construction Intelligence Center (CIC) which is currently tracking power generation construction projects in Middle East and Africa with a total of capacity of 488.3 GW. The total value of this construction projects pipeline (which includes projects from the announced to execution stages) stands at US$1.16 trillion. Gas power has the largest share of generating capacity, with 165.2GW, followed by nuclear, with 80.8 GW. The high nuclear power capacity has a major contribution from one large project in Saudi Arabia.
