The quantity supplied of LCD panels for television has amounted to 266 million in 2015, among which LG Display took 20.8% of the market share to rank first place in supply. This is a 6.2% growth compared to the corresponding figure in 2014. Samsung Display supplied 51 million panels, a degrowth of 6.7% to take second position in the market. In 2015, the ranks of two Korean enterprises have been switched.
Innolux Corporation, a Taiwanese enterprise, ranked third place, supplying 49 million panels. There is only 0.8% difference in market share between Samsung Display which was positioned second, and Innolux Corporation. When adding 2 million cells supplied by Panasonic, the number exceeds 51 million to equal that of Samsung Display.
The growth of Chinese enterprises is phenomenal. BOE supplied 34 million TV-use LCD panels to step in at fourth place, and the figure increased by 126% compared to the previous year. In 2016 and 2017 when the production facilities will be in full-operation, the quantity supplied is expected to increase even more.
