在全球各地的沙漠地帶,研究起大規模的太陽能能源發電廠 (太陽能電池式發電,聚光型太陽能光電發電,聚光型太陽熱能發電等)的建設 。北非、中東地區,各國政府也計劃建設大規模的發電設備,譬如沙烏地阿拉伯發表至2032年整備總合54千兆瓦特再生能源發電能力的計劃。由於北非、中東地區大半屬於沙漠氣候,又整備固定價格買進制度 (FIT),全世界的企業以進入在該地區的計劃為目標。

With the start of Desertec and Gobitec projects which was the challenge of the mankind to build larg-scale solar power plant(include Photovoltaic, Concentrated Photovoltaic, Concentrated Solar Power) at desert area to transmit the generated electricity, research on constructing new renewable energy in the deseart area is being continued.

Northern Africa and Middle Eastern countries are annoucing the introduction of large-scale power capacity of renewable energy by year 2030, and Saudi Arabia also announced to introduce a total capacity of 54GW of renewable energy by year 2032.

Northern African countries where most of the country belong to the desert, Morocco, Egypt and Algeria, have recently adopted Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) and are in the process of carrying forward large-scale projects on new renewable energy, and world's major renewable energy companies are participating in the project tender.

SNE Research investigated the renewable energy potential, present condition, and policies including the RE targets of 10 countries from Northern Africa and Middle East, and organized useful information for hands-on workers that are pondering business entry into the area by analyzing the cost of power generation as well as economic feasibility.
