Synopsis
The market for 32/64-bit MCUs/eMPUs/DSPs is forecast to be moderately impacted
by the global uncertainty, declining by around 7% in 2009, but to grow again
in 2010. Revenues are forecast to be supported in the short term by the
continued development of the 32-bit MCU market, in particular with the
adoption of products based on the ARM Cortex M3 and M0 cores eroding
traditional 8/16-bit MCU opportunities. Total revenues are forecast to grow to
USD14.2 billion in 2013, from USD8.1 billion in 2007, a CAGR of almost 10%.
