Abstract
Agrow' s Top 20: 2007 edition presents detailed profiles of the 20 largest
agrochemical companies worldwide, ranked by sales in the 2006 fiscal year. The
report includes financial data for 2006 and company news available until 10
August 2007.
A problem with a report of this type is deciding how much historic information
to include. Over the years the sections dealing with such matters as joint
ventures, agreements, acquisitions, divestments and disputes have inexorably
grown as the more recent developments have been added to the pre-existing
databases. To overcome this, in most cases, only joint ventures, agreements,
acquisitions and divestments that occurred after 1 January 2005 are presented
in any detail. Earlier transactions and agreements are summarised in tabular
form only. For further information relating to events occurring prior to 2005,
the reader is referred to Agrow' s Top 20: 2006 edition.
This report has been compiled from both public and private sources of
information including:
- Internet research
- Direct contact with the companies
- Agrow World Crop Protection News newsletter
- AGROProjects database
- Press releases
- Annual reports
