Abstract
Unlike many other European countries, France has opted to bypass the cheaper
option of fibre-to-the-cabinet plus VDSL and is going straight to
fibre-to-the-business/home (FTTB/H). It is a strategy that has now been
adopted by all of France' s leading broadband operators, including the cable
operator, Noos. The government has set a target of 10 million homes to be
covered by 2010.
