The ongoing transition to LTE is the key driver for augmenting backhaul capacity of mobile networks. Mobile operators spent $7.8bn in 2014 on backhaul and fronthaul equipment, and Ovum projects the market will exceed $13.2bn in 2020, driven by LTE builds in India, renewed investment in China, improved macroeconomic conditions in Europe, and the implementation of LTE-A.
