Global Information, Inc.已開始銷售Northern Sky Research, LLC所發行的報告書「Global Direct-to-Home (DTH) Markets, 4th Edition (全球DTH(Direct-to-Home)市場(第4版))」
在嚴苛的經濟環境及激烈化的競爭中，本報告書預想DTH（Direct-to-Home）市場牽引了全球衛星的需求及收益。
2010年，DTH服務利用了950 Ku-Band 36 MHz TPE。
再則，2010年，運用DTH平台與配合SD、HD和3D，約有16,900電視頻道送訊給將近1億4,000萬人的加入者，其加入收益超過750億美元。
Northern Sky Research的分析家、且是本報告書的著者Brad Grady敘述：「OTT（Over-The-Top）視訊市場技術已經蔚為大話題。且DTH關聯企業需熟慮如何將OTT服務與設備整合。
在北美和西歐，Hulu、Netflix和BBC的iPlayerOTT服務已經進入生活中。」。
「2020年之前，DTH加入者的約半數將簽定加入HD套裝的契約，3分之1會擁有數位影音錄放機(DVR)。
然面對壟斷性內容、HD/DVR服務及可任意處理的收入壓力等，都是影響全球DTH市場規模和整體情形的最大主因。」
對加入者來說，電視劇、新聞及外語內容能獨佔視聽是很重要的，最受歡迎的領域是以體育為中心的內容。
發展中國家及先進國家市場亦相同，要取得體育內容壟斷的播放權，須花費用，且播放權費越發變貴。
隨著HD/DVR服務成熟化，預估加入者將捲入DTH服務提供商的內容生態系統中。因為利用DVR STB錄製的內容及其他限定加入者服務的情形增加。
