The US market for surgical hemostats, internal tissue sealants, and adhesion
barriers continues to show steady market growth, driven by the expanding aging
demographic in the US, which will fuel the number of procedures performed that
use these products. The market was not significantly impacted by the economic
downturn in recent years because physicians and health care facilities
continue to see the long-term value of these products in terms of lowering
overall procedure costs and increasing favorable outcomes. In addition, the
segments in the report remain underpenetrated, which will provide strong
growth opportunities over the forecast period, especially as physicians and
facilities become increasingly aware of the benefits these products provide.
Revenues will also continue to climb as manufacturers release products for
expanded indications. In particular, there will be a gradual shift toward the
uptake of products that offer multiple functionalities, which are associated
with higher prices. Consequently, their adoption will further contribute to
