Organic Personal Care market

The global organic personal care market was valued at USD 12.12 billion in 2016. The market is expected to record an estimated CAGR of 9.74% during the forecast period 2017-2022, to reach a value of USD 21.16 billion by the end of 2022.

Natural and organic personal care products have been around for many decades; however, they have gained prominence only after the turn of the century (post the year 2000), due to greater end-user awareness of product safety and growing concerns about the environment, as a result of the use of conventional cosmetic products. Organic personal care product vendors usually target perfectionists, and brand conscious, brand loyal and novelty conscious users, who are more likely to choose organic and natural cosmetic products over synthetic products.

Some of the major drivers for the growth of the global organic personal care market include increasing end-user awareness, aging population, and stringent regulations over the use of natural products in the skin care industry. Incremental innovations in product manufacturing (multi-purpose) and placement, coupled with the growing bubble of e-commerce distribution channels, are expected to open up growth opportunities during and after the forecast period. Conversely, fluctuating raw material prices, short shelf-life and high product costs are expected to hamper the market growth during the forecast period.
