Pesticides that are applied for killing ticks and mites are termed as acaricides. Acaricides are one of the major pesticide types that are applied in the field to increase productivity by keeping animals and crops healthy and disease-free. Including agriculture, these products have varied applications, within which, the desired selective toxicity level differs. The global acaricides market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 5.4% during the 2015-2020 forecast period.

Acaricides are known for controlling arthropod pests. These pests can cause huge loss to the agriculture and animal husbandry industry. The increasing occurrence of these pests has led to the growth of the acaricides industry worldwide. Factors that act as driving force for the industry are- increasing need of agricultural productivity, the globally growing crop protection market, and the growing demand for crop and animal based products.
