The Global Aircraft Cabin Interior Market stands at $14.07 billion in 2015, and will grow to a size of $18.98 billion by 2020 at a CAGR of 6.16% in the study period.

The global jet market is undergoing a period of high demand but the sales of commercial jets which represent the biggest chunk of the market are limited by the supply crunch. Airbus alone generated a backlog of 6,787 aircraft, which represents almost 10 years worth of production. Even Boeing, which has fallen behind Airbus in recent times in terms of orders bagged, has accumulated a backlog of more than 4,000 planes of which 75% of the planes are the upcoming 737 MAX airplanes. This factor will limit the growth of the cabin interior market, as the number of new airplanes coming into the market each year will be of a limited amount and the rate of growth will be almost constant up until 2020. Minor Variations though will be seen in the growth rates due to the retro fit market. Low Cost Carriers which presently control 1/4th of the total airline market, will grow rapidly at the expense of full service carriers and is expected to hold close to 1/3rd market share by 2020. Thus the seats for economy class segment will register maximum sales and growth during the forecasted period.

But the growth rate in the business jet segment, which constitutes a miniscule share of the total market, will be highly variable till 2020. The cost range of business jets is vast. They start from around $4 million and go over $400 million. Hence the configurations of business jet vary according to the size and the purpose for which it is used.

In Flight Entertainment systems will see maximum rate of growth amongst the systems, as existing aircraft will get retrofitted with such systems to improve facilities to passengers, in the highly competitive Global Airline Industry.

North America controls the majority of the business and commercial jet market, but Asia Pacific region led by India and China will be the fastest growing Cabin Interior Markets until 2020.
