目錄

Abstract

First introduced in the early 1990s as a bailout technique for suboptimal or failed iliac angioplasty, peripheral vascular stenting gradually emerged as a valuable and versatile tool for a variety of primary and adjuvant applications within noncoronary vasculature. In 2010, peripheral vascular stents were used in more than 148,300 interventional procedures (including iliac artery stenting, fem-pop stenting, TIPS procedures, renal artery stenting, endovascular AAA repair, and carotid artery stenting) in the European countries covered by this report (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) generating an estimated $437 million in corresponding product sales. Over the forecast period covered by this report, the number of peripheral vascular stenting procedures performed in Europe is expected to increase at 5% growth rate, reaching nearly 181,200 in the year 2014; during the same period, corresponding dollar sales are expected to increase at a 9% growth rate, reaching approximately $619 million in the year 2014.

This new report by Medtech Insight includes analyses of products, technologies, current and forecast markets, competitors, and opportunities in the European peripheral vascular stents market. Major topics covered by this report include a discussion of current and emerging peripheral vascular stenting technologies; a clinical overview of peripheral vascular conditions targeted by stenting, and an analysis of the European markets for iliac artery stents, fem-pop stents, TIPS devices, renal artery stents, AAA repair stent-grafts, and carotid artery stents.

Methodology

Reports are produced exclusively by Medtech Insight, through extensive primary and secondary research among the clinicians, researchers, and competitors in the marketplace, and draw upon the industry expertise of a network of industry insiders. Medtech Insight exhaustively corroborates the data as a baseline for completing forward-looking analysis and providing insight into product, technology and market evolution.
