This IDC Manufacturing Insights report discusses the issues and initiatives that manufacturers in the Asia/Pacific region will face in 2012.

"The volatility in the world economy is being felt keenly by manufacturers in the Asia/Pacific region. The drive for productivity and efficiency will be key for 2012," said Dr. Christopher Holmes, head - international, IDC Manufacturing Insights. Holmes continues, "From a technology perspective, we will see companies move to clearly establish the link between technology and efficiency as companies focus on driving out cost and becoming ever more productive with the increased use of analytics and automation being implemented by companies across the region. Manufacturers will focus their efforts on satisfying domestic demand within the region, and also looking to exploit the opportunities in the aftersales and support market, driving top-line growth."
