Abstract

This Manufacturing Insights report provides IT budget benchmarks for organizations to evaluate their own spending. Engineering-oriented value chains (EOVCs) are characterized by segments that are driven by complex products such as in automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery, farm and construction equipment, and certain consumer durables.

"EOVC segments represent industries in the midst of unprecedented pressure and tremendous opportunity. Smart IT investments are critical to recovery and will be a major contributor for those companies that realize success," said Ben Friedman, research manager at IDC Manufacturing Insights.
