The function of engine coolant is to remove excess heat from the engine and protect it from overheating. During early era of automobiles, traditional green IAT coolant was the universally accepted coolant for all vehicle types. As technology developed, the extended life coolants entered the market based on the organic acid technology (OAT). These OAT coolants offered several advantages over conventional IAT coolants, which made them a popular choice for OEMs in North America and European region. Considering the stringent environmental regulations in different parts of the world, some coolant manufacturers came up with unique combination of IAT and OAT coolant named HOAT coolant. The HOAT coolant offers advantages of both IAT and OAT coolant.
