Product Code: TC 2679

Today's users look for enhanced communication services that can help them stay closer and share everyday experiences with friends and family. Rich Communication Services (RCS) is a platform that enables the delivery of communication experiences beyond voice and SMS. RCS uses an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) infrastructure to deliver an incredible range of communication modes such as chat, content sharing, VoIP, IP video call, file transfer, social networking, and others. The successful implementation of RCS suite offers Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) a great opportunity to increase their revenues by providing these services to the end-users.

The overall rich communication services market in this study is defined as the revenues generated by the mobile network operators by providing RCS to their end-users and the revenues generated by the infrastructure service providers by providing RCS suite/solution/infrastructure to the MNOs.

North America, Latin America, and Europe have the highest adoption of RCS in the telecom ecosystem, and regions such as Asia-Pacific and Middle East and Africa offer a lot of opportunities for the vendors where majority of the countries are yet to have RCS.

In order to cope up with the reduced per user revenue growth because of the Over-The-Top (OTT) applications, RCS is one of the best solutions that mobile operators have. MNOs can retain their existing customers and increase their revenues or can at least preserve their existing revenues by introducing rich communications in their service offerings.

There are various assumptions that have been taken into consideration for the market sizing and forecasting exercise. A few of the global assumptions include political, social, economic, and technological factors. For instance, exchange rates are some of the factors which are expected to have an impact on this market. Therefore, the dollar fluctuations are expected to not seriously affect the forecasts in the emerging Asia-Pacific regions.

This report will help the enterprise asset management vendors in the following ways:

  • 1. This report segments the market on the basis of the revenues generated by MNOs and infrastructure service providers in the RCS ecosystem. The report provides the closest approximations of the revenue numbers for the overall market and the sub-segments. The market numbers are further split into user type, deployment model, and region.
  • 2. The report will help RCS vendors and MNOs to better understand the competitors and gain more insights for better positioning of business. There is a separate section on competitive landscape, which include end user analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital funding. This report also covers company profiles of major players in this market.
  • 3. The report will help suppliers understand the pulse of the market and provide information on key market drivers, restraints, and opportunities.
