IMS Research published the first detailed study on the global PV inverter market in 2008, providing the only in-depth analysis of the solar inverter market with segmentations presented for individual countries and detailed discussion of the opportunities presented for power semiconductor suppliers over the next 5-10 years.

The second edition of the report, which was published in July 2009, provides highly detailed market sizes and forecasts for different types of PV inverter within each of the 17 countries/regions analysed. The report was compiled over a 6-month period by collecting real sales and shipment data from the largest suppliers to the market and forecasts produced by analysing data relating to feed-in tariffs and incentives, and other key factors such as module pricing.
