Report Description:
Increased availability, better awareness of benefits and government mandates
are all intensifying interest in advanced driver assistance systems. Several
detection technologies are at disposal but arguably the automotive camera
module is the most versatile and cost effective, offering the best potential
of all current detection technologies available.
This is IMS Research' s third dedicated automotive camera modules report. Like
previous editions, it provides forecasts of fitment rates for 12 advanced
driver assistance systems, breaking out the proportion of systems using a
camera module (percentage & units), average selling price per module, and
revenues. Where appropriate it also shows usage (percentage) of other
detection technologies, for example radar and ultrasonic.
This edition addresses several new areas, this includes analogue vs. digital
camera usage and "one-box" vs. "two-box" camera usage. The report also looks
at the image sensor market in more detail than previous editions. Focusing on
the current and future feature requirements for image sensors in front cameras
and rear cameras respectively. The features are: resolution, field of view,
dynamic range and frame rate. Topics such as stereovision and megapixel are
also discussed. Market share estimates for 2010 and 2011 are provided in the
final chapter for; front camera suppliers, rear camera suppliers and image
sensor suppliers.
