- The global marine paint market is estimated at 700,000 tonnes in 2007
and is expected to grow at 8% pa until 2012. Despite the high
concentration of shipbuilding in the Far East, pockets of growing demand for
marine paints have been identified in many parts of the world.
- The worldwide protective coatings market is estimated at 1.85 million
tonnes in 2007 and should grow by 10% pa until 2012. Much of this growth
is related to emerging economies witnessing the implementation of new
infrastructure plans.
