Abstract
The report is devoted to investigation of current state of the Russian market
of steel and forecast of its development in the coming years. The report
consists of 12 Sections, 201 pages, including 46 tables, 19 figures and 3
appendices.
The first chapter describes the economic situation in the industry after the
crisis. The chapter shows the financial performance of major metallurgical
enterprises of the sector in 2007-2010.
The second chapter presents an analysis of production from 1970 to 2010 and
the first half of 2011 and the use of existing facilities.
The third chapter is devoted to a brief description of the main Russian
producers of steel and rolled products. Bring their data to produce the main
product from 1993 to 2010.
The fourth chapter describes the situation with the raw material for
production of steel (iron ore and pellets, pig iron, scrap, direct reduced
iron and hot briquetted iron-). For all types of raw data are given for its
production in the 1993-2010 years. and the first half of 2011, broken down by
company-producers, the dynamics of internal and external supply in 1995-2010,
the dynamics of average domestic prices of primary producers in 2002-2010 and
the first half of 2011, as well as the dynamics of export prices.
The fifth chapter is devoted to the problems of restructuring Russia's steel
industry. It describes the main government program for the strategy
development of metallurgical industry of Russia in 2015, data on investment
projects implemented in various enterprises of the industry.
The sixth chapter gives the main results of privatization in the Russian steel
industry.
The seventh chapter is devoted to the export markets of the Russian
metallurgical enterprises. Data are presented on Russian exports and imports
in 1998-2010 years. main products (billets, wire rods, bars, fittings,
profiles, hot-rolled sheet, cold rolled sheet proc, coated sheets).
The eighth chapter provides an analysis of the domestic consumption of
finished steel in Russia, given its speaker from 1998 to 2010. by type of
hire. A separate analysis of consumption of finished steel in the major
consuming industries of Russia - engineering, construction, pipe industry.
The ninth chapter provides a detailed analysis of the supply of steel in
2007-2010, exact data for three years for the consumption of steel enterprises
with consumption of more than 50 thousand tons per year. Shows the regional
pattern of consumption of finished steel by regions of Russia.
In the tenth chapter lists the key factors influencing the pricing of steel
products in Russia (electricity, conventional fuel rail).
In the eleventh chapter provides an analysis of internal and external prices
of major steel products in 2005-2010 and the first half of 2011 on a monthly
basis.
In the twelfth and final chapter of the first section presents a forecast of
production and consumption of steel and rolled steel in Russia in 2020
Appendix 1 shows the output of steel in major Russian enterprises by type of
process in 1998-2010. Appendix 2 shows the data for the production of finished
steel in Russia by his appearance in 1998-2010. Appendix 3 shows the main
company contact information.
This work is a “desk” research. As information sources used data of Rosstat,
Federal Customs Service of Russia, official statistics domestic railage. Also,
data of sectoral and regional press, annual and quarterly repots of companies,
web-sites of company, as well as information database companies, the database
of “InfoMine”.
