Abstract
Energy consumption by Information and communications technologies (ICT) has
predominantly remained a major area of concern by the businesses around the
globe. Information technology (IT) products impact the environment,
significantly, in terms of energy usage, carbon emissions, hazardous
substances, accumulation, and disposition of electronic wastes. For instance;
desktop, laptops, networking hardware, storage, and datacenter facilities
consumes significant amount energy to operate and release the Greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions in the environment. As a result, there is a growing awareness,
among all the private and public industry sectors, for using technology in an
environmentally responsible manner.
This report discusses about the awareness of the Green IT practices and the IT
