About AS-i

AS-i is an industrial communication networking solution used in programmable logic controller (PLC), distributed control system (DCS), and PC-based automation systems. It is a non-proprietary, open installation system supported by a multitude of automation equipment vendors. It is a standardized bit-oriented Fieldbus, designed for ideal communication between actuators and sensors. It is used for connecting simple I/O devices as binary ON/OFF devices in actuators, sensors, interfaces, rotaries, analog inputs and outputs, push buttons, and valve positions sensors in decentralized production and the process automation industry. It is connected using a single 2-conductor cable.
